I think Vigneault has hit an all new low. He's being out coached before the puck has been dropped. What coach uses a 2nd and 3rd line that has never been used before in game 1 of the playoffs? I'll tell you who. Alain (frank)ing Vigneault. The only coach that will totally change his lines and chemistry in reaction to the the oppositions lineup, instead of icing the best lineup for his team.

Mr. Reactionary is back.

The Leafs like Reimer and think they have a good prospect in Garret Sparks, so I think they will pass on a goalie. If Max Domi is there, I can't see the Leafs passing on him, but I have heard from many in the know that he is too small to make it in the NHL.

Edit - is Max the son of Tie, and if so, is this a sentimental pick rather than a smart hockey pick?

Agree on the goalie thing though, most teams don't draft a goalie in the first round unless they are head and shoulders better than their peers.

We're probably both wrong. Nonis will take some kid from US High School, off the board, that he has a feeling about.

Any chance Patrick White re-enters the draft? Nonis may take another flyer on him.

Max is Tie's son, but IMO, there would be nothing sentimental about the pick. Max is small, but he has absolutely elite puck skills. Great shot release. Great passer. He's the complete package, except for his size. But, in the modern day NHL, size is less important than it used to be, and I think any team that drafts Domi will be drafting a perennial league all-star, IMO.

He's a good little player for sure, but I wouldn't say he'll be a perennial league all-star.

He's kind of a Mike Richards at best, Matt Cooke -lil less dirty- at worst.

Ian, it is just an opinion, the truth of which we won't know for years. But, I do disagree with your comparables. He reminds me most of Marty St. Louis in terms of his skill set. Not saying he will even approach that level of production, but I think he is cut from that mold.

I thought it was an interesting mock.

Do agree with comments that it would be tough for the Leafs to let Domi pass by if he's still on the board at that point.

If not would definitely pull for the Fucale pick. You never know what is going to happen and outside of Sparks the prospect pool is questionable at that position. Fucale would shore up that position and provide some future potential.

The Leafs need a goalie of the future and Fucale is the best in the draft. He will be able to play another two years of junior and one or two in the AHL and then he will be ready to take the reins.

I thought we were trading major assets for an elite goalie, locked up for the next nine years.

Is that off, Mr. Esplen?

[Draft is based on final regular season standings after draft lotto.
- IanEsplen

According to http://www.nhl.com/ice/pa...=86689#&navid=nhl-search:

NHL Draft Order: Picks 15-30
Clubs eliminated first 2 rounds
Non Division winner
Division winner
Clubs eliminated in conference finals
Stanley Cup runner up
Stanley Cup winner

Draft order is not set until the playoffs are over. Your draft position is determined by the round you are eliminated in and then your place in the regular season standings.

That said, you are dead on with the Calgary picks. The only way we don't take Monahan with our first pick is if we trade up or if Barkov is still available at #6 (which is highly unlikely, though maybe the injury will scare some folks off...)

We are not small up front either...we need Jones, and of we dont get him we will take mackinnon because Florida will take drouon...they need a winger to play with huberdeau
